Very much enjoyed hearing the podcast.

I was incarcerated in one of South Africas worst prisons on false charges. This experience resulted in extreme social and economic isolation and loneliness.

It is true that it is a battle of the mind to overcome loneliness.

I resonate with Evan - as I am also a Zimbabwean and in a type of exile have no sense of belonging.

I also resonate with the experience of the silence of prisons, the 9 locks, the heightened sound of silence which is very comforting in the night. I used to imagine the dreams of others who could sleep, while I looked out the night window to the stars and distant car lights dancing over the wall of my cell.

Thank you for the brilliant podcast. It was humbling but also so reassuring.
